The University is looking to fill a vacancy for the position of Accountant responsible for payroll preparation, accounting for employee and honorarium related expenditure, accounting for loans and the employee ledger. This individual is also responsible for accounting for income, expenditure, and posting transactions into the accounting system.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or its equivalent.
  • A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification will be an added advantage.

Required Work Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience as an accountant

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Payroll preparation and processing
  2. Processing and timely remittance of statutory deductions
  3. Accounting for employee-related transactions and receivables
  4. Accounting for employee and organizational loans
  5. Responsible for insurance matters and transactions
  6. Posting transactions into the SunPlus system
  7. Bank and inter-organizational reconciliations
  8. Generating financial reports
  9. Participate in budget preparation
  10. Contribute to the ongoing development of an efficient administrative service to the clients of the University
